O museu Ferenc Hopp é especializado em arte asiática e havia uma mostra com peças relacionadas ao papel das mulheres e divindades femininas na India, bastante interessante. Fiz apenas dois desenhos, sendo um deles o da deusa Shiva.
A grande maioria das pessoas escolheu desenhar no jardim do museu. Eu me juntei ao grupo, fazendo o desenho de um portal oriental (não sei de que procedência) misturado ao desenho anterior, ou seja, na mesma página. Achei interessante a existência dos dois círculos entrelaçados no desenho.

Ao final do encontro, Cecilia me apresentou ao grupo e eu pude falar um pouco sobre o workshop que daríamos ao final do mês.
Após o almoço, me dirigi sozinho à Hősök tere, ou Praça dos Heróis, ao final da Andrássy Ut.
É um belíssimo espaço urbano, em cujo centro encontra-se o Monumento do Milênio, que foi erguido em comemoração aos mil anos de história da nação (comemorado oficialmente em 1896). A construção do conjunto arquitetônico e escultórico levou mais de 10 anos para ser finalizada, e ocorreu concomitantemente com a construção da primeira linha de metrô de Budapeste e dos dois museus que margeiam a praça. Vale a pena ver as esculturas em detalhes nesta página.
Após a conclusão do desenho à lápis, tive a ideia do fundo formado pelo céu inscrito em um círculo, inspirado pelo design da página oposta. A execução não ocorreu conforme eu esperava...uma gota escorreu da borda do círculo e percorreu o papel, sob meu olhar pasmado, até o limite da folha (evidentemente eu estava pintando com o caderno virado de cabeça para baixo). Pensei em intervir no momento, secando a gota com um papel mas, por algum motivo, não fiz nada. E assim ficou.
Mais tarde tive que voltar ao museu para recuperar um livro do Harry Potter que a Cecilia havia esquecido em um dos lockers. Tentei explicar em inglês, mas a senhora da recepção não fez a menor questão de me ajudar. Fechou a cara e apenas dizia 'tomorrow', 'tomorrow'...Tive que ligar para a Cecilia na hora e a colocar para falar com a mulher. Enfim, problemas de linguagem à parte, tudo resolvido.
Voltei à praça e, um pouco mais adiante, fiz um outro desenho: o castelo de Vajdahunyad fica à beira de um lago, o que por si só proporciona uma bela cena. Foi construído à mesma época do Monumento do Milênio, ou seja, no século XIX. É um pastiche de diversos estilos arquitetônicos, copiados de construções históricas existentes ao redor da Hungria (no desenho vemos sua porção gótica), mas não deixa de ser muito interessante para ser desenhado.
Ao fim do dia, tomei direção rumo à Budakeszi. Eu estava contente e agradecido pela Cecilia me hospedar em sua casa - ao chegar, dei-lhe um forte abraço.

It was a beautiful day in Budapest that Sunday, October 14. On the morning, there was a meeting of the Urban Sketchers Budapest group at a small museum in Andrássy Ut. It was a good opportunity for me to draw with and meet the sketchers of the city.
The Ferenc Hopp museum is specialized in Asian art and there was a showcase with pieces related to the role of women and female deities in India. It was quite interesting. I made only two drawings, one of them being that of the goddess Shiva.
Most sketchers chose to draw in the garden of the museum. I joined the group later, making the drawing of an eastern portal, which I mixed with the previous drawing – I mean I drew them both on the same page. I found the two circles interlaced in the drawing quite interesting
At the end of the meeting, Cecilia introduced me to the group and I was able to talk a bit about the workshop me and her would give at the end of the month.
After lunch, I went alone to Hősök tere, or Heroes' Square, at the end of Andrássy Ut.
It is a beautiful urban space, at the center of which is the Millennium Monument, which was erected in celebration of the nation's thousand years of history (officially commemorated in 1896). The construction of the square and its many beautiful statues took more than 10 years to be finished. It is worth to see the statues in detail on this page.
As I was finishing the pencil drawing, I had the idea of the background with the circled shape of the sky, inspired by the design of the opposite page. The execution didn’t happen as I expected ... a drop of paint trickled from the edge of the circle and ran through the paper (obviously I was painting with the sketchbook turned upside down). Not such a big deal, but it bothered me a little. I thought to do something like drying it out with a piece of paper, but for some reason I didn’t do anything - just watched it. And so, it remained like that.
Later, I had to go back to the museum to get a Harry Potter book that Cecilia had forgotten in one of the lockers. I tried to explain in English, but the lady at the front desk did not care to help me. She just kept saying 'tomorrow', 'tomorrow' ... I had to call Cecilia and put her to talk to the woman. Anyway, language problems aside, all solved.
I finally returned to the square and made another drawing: Vajdahunyad castle is on the edge of a lake. It was built at the same time as the Millennium Monument, in the 19th century. It is a pastiche of several architectural styles, copied from historical constructions existing around Hungary (in the drawing we see its Gothic portion), but it is still very interesting to be drawn.

end of the day, I made my way to Budakeszi. I was glad and grateful for Cecilia
to host me at her house - on arrival, I gave her a warm hug.
