Embora seja a terceira maior cidade do país, Szeged tem apenas 160.000 habitantes. A cidade me pareceu muito bem cuidada e bastante tranquila. Por ser uma cidade universitária, tem um clima bacana, com muitos jovens circulando pelas ruas.
Fiz um longo e tranquilo desenho da catedral da cidade - Fogadalmi templom - em estilo neorromânico, construída entre 1913 e 1930.
Achei particularmente interessante o contraponto das duas torres de 91 metros de altura com o corpo mais baixo da nave. É toda em tijolo com faixas horizontais e verticais brancas. Destaca-se o batistério Dömötör adjacente, muito mais antigo.
Mais tarde, encontrei minha amiga e jantamos na cidade. Tirei algumas fotos da catedral lindamente iluminada à noite.
O retorno à Budakeszi (onde minha amiga mora) foi longo e um pouco cansativo, mas a visita a essa cidade valeu muito a pena!
On my first day in Hungary, I visited the city of Szeged with my friend, who had a meeting there.
Szeged is located 160km from Budapest and the train ride took about 2 hours.
With 160,000 inhabitants, Szeged is the third largest city in the country. It seemed to me a very well-kept and quiet city. Being a university city, it has a nice atmosphere, with many young people around.
I made a long and quiet drawing of the city's cathedral - Fogadalmi templom. This neo-Romanesque style cathedral was built between 1913 and 1930.
I found the strong contrast of the two 91-meter-high towers with the lowest body of the nave particularly appealing. The facades are covered with brick with horizontal and vertical white stripes. It stands out the adjacent baptistery Dömötör, much older than the catedral.
Later, I met my friend and we had dinner in the city. Before heading to the train station, I took some pictures of the beautifully lit cathedral at night.
