Hungary Trip XX - After the workshop

On October 29, I woke up with mixed feelings. On one hand, I was very happy about the workshop, which had a big attendance (with 22 participants!). On the other hand, I was confused and tired. I was missing home already, and at the same time I was sad because it was coming to an end (probably something every traveler feels, of course).
This trip was very intense in many senses.
So, I went right to the bridge's side, to finish the drawing I started a few days earlier. The weather was great, so I spent a lot of time in there, drawing and painting slowly.
I had lunch in a small place called Ildikó-Konyhaja (or something like that), at Fő utca, near Clark Adám Tér. I sat together with a couple, who didn't bother my presence and actually was very helpful: they read all the menu in Hungarian that was written in a wall. I ate very well, and I was happy to meet them.
I then took the funicular to the Castle district, where the city has grown from. The Buda hill is dominated, on one side, by the huge Castle/Palace complex - where you find the National Gallery - and the Mátyás Templom and historic center on the other side - where you find the hotels, restaurants and some other historical buildings.

As it was getting dark early by this time of the year (late October), I didn't hesitate to find something to sketch. Avoiding the alluring but complex panoramic view of the city I, instead, sketched the statue of prince Eugene of Savoy, right in front of the National Gallery entrance. I sketched quickly and add colors right away. I loved to make the stains of copper on the marble, something I always wanted to do.
Finally, I started to get back to my air-bnb, amazed by the beautifully lit Budapest at night.
